Small is a one-person show written and performed by Robert Montano. The story follows his journey from aspiring jockey to professional dancer after outgrowing the sport he originally loved.
Goal / Brief
Using previous concepts and materials provided by the client, I developed new key art directions that explored themes of scale, contrast, and transformation. Many of the concepts played with negative space and the contrast between "big" and "small" to reflect the story's central idea.
Challenges
The client had a very specific vision for the artwork and ultimately chose to continue using an existing visual direction. Working within those expectations while exploring new concepts was an interesting creative challenge.
What I'm Proud Of
I'm proud of the concepts I created for the project. The designs were playful, visually impactful, and allowed me to experiment with scale and negative space in ways that directly supported the story.
